My New Wheels
It has been a rough couple of weeks for this Warrior Princess.
Somehow or another, I injured my remaining front paw. Managed to tear a piece of the leathery paw pad covering off…rendering me raw, bloody and unable to “hop on three”. Yes my friends … I was down to two. It wasn’t pretty.
Almost drove my Mom over the brink with worry. Heh! I love keeping these bipawds on their toes. Uh…Mom??? Hellooooo!! WARRIOR Princess! Not delicate princess. Geesh!
ANYWAY…I am back in the saddle!!
Truth is, I wasn’t too crazy about the idea when they first suggested it. “Oooooo Missy Peggy” she cooed. “How about your own wagon? That way we could go for really long walks with Dad and Chaz!!” I just sat in my chair and mustered up the best “bored” look I could manage. My Mom means well, but sometimes that sing-song voice is just plain annoying.
Well…before I know it, Dad is taking some big plastic thing out of a box, and swearing like a truck driver, surrounded by small plastic baggies full of metal stuff and hammers and screwdrivers. The next thing I know, we are in the back yard…she is cooing again…and I am being lifted in to a … RED FLYER. Crikey!
But in the end, and after careful introspection….I find it suits me.
It is red. It is sporty. And those three big black labs down the block STILL want a piece of this. Uh huh!

that is an awesome ride! You are the first to ever make a Red Flyer look regal, that’s for sure. Fitting place for a tripawd, having the pawrents pulling you around. hehe.
I hope your paw heals quickly so they don’t have to go EVERYWHERE you go. That could get annoying.
Looing good Miss Pegz!!
Oh my gosh, she looks so stinkin’ cute! I hate it that she has to have the wagon, but she really does look quite regal riding around like the little princess she is!
Can you tell any improvement in the paw? Still say a little prayer for you each morning.
Thanks Guys!! @ Lisa and Zeus…the part of the pad that ripped off is healing so quickly!! I was kind of amazed. It is already gray (verging on black) and blending in with the rest of the skin. And it is taking on that leathery feel. We have been doing daily vitamin E oil rubs. I am sure it has helped!!!
PS…she really LOVED the wagon!
I am so very glad that it is healing quickly. I know you are just like us, in that it just shreds your heart to see them hurt and struggling. I think she needs a canopy on the wagon to protect her from the harsh sun…. 😉
OH YAAAAAY! You know Pegz, you’re braver than I was. When my pawrents tried that with me, I FREAKED. I didn’t want anything to do with it. You’re pretty pawesome for just rolling along like that. My hero! xoxo
(So glad your pretty foot is healing!)
